Glass façades, curtain walls and structural glazing
Aluminium and glass façades for showrooms, offices, hospitals and hotels, designed for the building's wind exposure and installed by one team.
A façade is the building's outer skin. In a glazed façade, an aluminium framework carries the glass and transfers wind load back to the structure. Done well, it gives a commercial building its identity, plenty of daylight and a weather-tight envelope.
Façade systems
| System | What it is | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Stick curtain wall | Vertical mullions and horizontal transoms assembled on site, then glazed. | Low and mid-rise buildings, showrooms. |
| Semi-unitised | Frames on site; glass panels prepared in the workshop and fixed on. | Faster installation with better quality control. |
| Structural glazing | Glass bonded to the frame with structural silicone, so no caps show outside. | Smooth, all-glass exteriors. |
| Spider / point-fixed glazing | Glass held at points by steel fittings. | Entrance lobbies, canopies, double-height glass walls. |
What goes into a good façade
- Wind-load design: frame sections, glass thickness and anchors checked for the building's height and exposure, following Indian codes such as IS 875 (Part 3) for wind loads and IS 16231 for glass in buildings.
- The right glass: heat-strengthened, toughened or laminated for safety; double-glazed and solar-control or Low-E for heat. See glass and glazing.
- Water management: drainage and pressure-equalised joints so rain that gets in finds its way out.
- Movement joints for thermal expansion and building movement.
- Access for maintenance: cleaning and future glass replacement planned from the start.
How we work on façade projects
We work with the architect and structural engineer from drawings: system selection, shop drawings, samples, fabrication and installation by our own team. Share your elevations and we'll come back with options and an itemised quote.

Questions
What is the difference between curtain wall and structural glazing?
A curtain wall is the aluminium framework that hangs off the building and carries the glass. Structural glazing is one way of fixing the glass to it, with structural silicone instead of visible pressure plates, for a smooth all-glass look.
Which glass is used in façades?
Usually heat-strengthened, toughened or laminated safety glass, often as double-glazed units with a solar-control or Low-E coating to reduce heat gain. The choice depends on height, exposure and design.
Do you take façade projects outside Chandigarh?
Yes. We work across Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, and travel for the right project.
