Screwless aluminium windows and doors
Nothing on show but the view. Frames joined with crimped corners and concealed cleats, so there are no screw heads to rust, loosen or collect dust.
In many aluminium windows the frame corners are held together with screws that you can see on the face of the frame. Over time those screw heads can rust, loosen and trap dirt, and the joint can open slightly. In a screwless system the corners are joined differently.
How a screwless frame is made
- Mitred corners: the profiles are cut at 45 degrees, like a picture frame.
- Concealed corner cleats: metal brackets inside the hollow profile hold the two pieces together.
- Crimping: a machine presses the profile onto the cleat, locking the joint.
- Corner glue and sealant make the joint rigid and close the path for water.
"Screwless" refers to how the frame is joined. Hardware such as hinges and handles, and the fixings into your wall, are still attached securely in the normal way.
Why it's worth it
- Cleaner look: smooth frames with no screw heads on show.
- Stronger, squarer corners, so sashes stay aligned and keep sealing properly.
- Fewer leak paths for rain and dust at the corners.
- Easier to clean, with nothing to catch dust.

Questions
What are screwless aluminium windows?
Windows whose frame corners are joined with concealed cleats and crimping instead of visible screws. The frame looks cleaner, the joints are stronger, and there is nothing on the surface to rust or work loose.
Are screwless windows stronger?
The crimped and glued corner joint is very rigid, which helps the frame stay square and the sashes keep sealing. Overall strength also depends on the profile, glass and installation.
Can I see a screwless window before ordering?
Yes. Visit our office at SCO 24, Lower Ground Floor, VIP Road, Zirakpur to see it next to a standard frame.
